Eating disorders are NOT about food and weight. You know that! They are just the symptoms of something deeper inside that needs to be addressed.
Whether you are suffering from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating or compulsive overeating, I have found that it comes down to one thing…the missing LOVE component. People tend to blame others for not getting the love they want and need so badly. Some people keep doing what they’re doing and can’t break the never-ending cycle of hurting themselves with their addiction. Their health is at stake and even though they know it, they can’t stop the pattern.
I haven’t come near to a piece of chocolate in days!! really amazing! 🙂
People who binge have a lack of control eating when they are NOT hungry. They binge as a way to hide from their emotions, to fill a void they feel inside, and to cope with daily stresses and problems in their lives. Some people binge to keep people away. They eat in secret gorging with more food than necessary going beyond the point of feeling full. They might be unhappy with their appearance so they stay in their secret hut and no one can see how much they binge. Then they feel guilty and might hate themselves for what they did to themselves. As with Bulimia, Binging can also be used as self-punishment for doing “bad” things, or for feeling badly about themselves. They might feel undeserving of love from others and don’t know how to love themselves.
People suffering from overeating have an addiction to food using food as a replacement to hide from their emotions and the stresses of their lives. They might feel guilty for not being good enough, shame for being overweight and sometimes have low self-esteem. Food to them is the friend that never fails. It’s a never ending battle to stop the cycle because if they don’t deal with the emotions underlying what’s really going on, they will never get to the root of the cause. So they give up. They often have a need for love and validation and when they don’t get it from themselves and others, they eat to forget the pain and how to deal with it in their lives.
There are other eating disorders but the REAL truth here is all about validation and love. Many people didn’t get the love they wanted from their parents and family and they can’t cope. After all these years they are still are looking for the love outside of themselves instead of inside.
A person suffering with Binge Eating and Compulsive Overeating is at risk for a heart attack, high blood pressure/cholesterol, kidney disease and/or failure, arthritis, bone deterioration, and stroke. The body becomes toxic as a result of overload on the lymphatic system, which can cause poor circulation.
Using EFT and/or Hypnotherapy are great healing techniques to address the emotional eating and find out why you are doing this self-destructive habit. Once you feel freer and let go of what’s been holding you back, then I can help you finally shift your outlook and perspective. Can you imagine how excited you’ll feel when you are no longer trapped and are able to make healthier choices for your well being? Let’s bring on the freedom!
